Nigeria

The nation Nigeria has received special emphasis from the Ministry of Care, and has had multiple visits since the year 2009.  The emphasis on this mission field reiterates an important fact – the level of need and suffering among these people is great.  In addition to these facts is the personal familiarity with the region and the convenience of having many local contacts and facilitators.  Announcements concerning MOC free medical assistance and general assistance was made at churches, town hall meetings, and town crier services. The following is a diary of outreach efforts and communities MOC visited and helped.
DECEMBER 2009 – MARCH 2010
ACTIVITIES: Free medical clinic, distribution of medical supplies, food, and clothing material. Business empowerment, Personal financial assistance
  • Visit to Owerri prisons. Donated medicines, clothing materials, food, and ministered the word of God.
  • Visit to Ihioma Civic center aat Njaba LGA.  Provided free medical clinic.
  • Outreach at Orodo orthopedic hospital.  Paid hospital bills of some of the indigent patients
  • Outreach at Old Umuahia.  Donated food items to widows and the less privileged residents.
  • Outreach to Mbieri.  Donated food items to the needy.  Gave financial assistance to young widows to develop and sustain handcraft business as a source of livelihood and independence.
    DECEMBER 2010 – FEBRUARY 2012
    ACTIVITIES: Free medical clinic, distribution of medical supplies, food, and clothing. Business empowerment, Personal financial assistance.
  • Visit to Greater Umuahia. Provided medicines, food items, clothing materials residents of village communities. Business empowerment through donation of sewing machines and start-up capital for small scale trading activities.
  • Visit to FMC hospital Umuahia. Donated medicines, clothing material. Paid hospital bills of some indigent patients.  Ministered to family members and prayed with them.
  • Visit to children’s wing at FMC hospital. Donated toys, beverages, snacks, kiddie clothes. Prayed with the families and encouraged the  staff.
  • Visited Evangel Boarding Secondary School, Abia State.  Paid school fees of 12 students with best academic performance. Donated books, markers, pens and pencils, gifts to the teachers.
FEBRUARY 2015 – AUGUST 2016
ACTIVITIES: Free medical clinic, distribution of medical supplies, food, and clothing. Business empowerment, Personal financial assistance.
  • Visit to several villages in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State. Shared food items and clothing to widows and the less privileged.  Went to the homes of some too elderly to visit the distribution sites.
  • Visit to Ikeduru LGA, Imo State. Distributed food items, clothing material, and medicines to widows, the elderly, and the less privileged.
